A friend of mine formed a trading team in Kaifeng, bringing a few people along. He supervises and manages risk. If any of the other traders in the team have issues, he will point them out. Six months have passed, and the team has all made profits, but he himself hasn't made much. This is actually quite normal because he can restrain others and see their problems, but he can't restrain himself and can't see his own issues. Even he can make mistakes when overwhelmed.
However, trading problems often cannot be resolved just by a friend's advice because friends are equal. For instance, if everything is on the same level, water won't flow; only when there is a distinction can water flow. In other words, if it is one's own teacher, or a mentor or senior whom one respects and admires, such advice becomes effective.
People are like this; only after seeing high mountains can one realize their own insignificance...
