Ukraine is moving towards the legalization of crypto. Here are the main points:
Law "On Virtual Assets" (2021)
Legalized crypto as an intangible asset.
Allowed ownership, exchange, and declaration of virtual assets.
Defined the National Commission on Securities and Stock Market and the National Bank of Ukraine as regulators.
BUT: The law is not yet fully in effect.
Main Issue: Taxation
There are no clear rules for taxing crypto operations. Currently - general personal income tax (18% + 1.5% military levy).
Draft Law No. 10225-d proposes taxing net profit (income minus expenses), possibly at a preferential rate.
