One of the most important comparisons for a trader is between trading in the spot market and trading in futures. The spot is simpler: you buy an asset and hold it. In contrast, futures allow you to trade with leverage, open short positions, and take advantage of both rises and falls. Personally, I use spot to hold solid projects and futures when I want to take advantage of quick movements with low leverage (x3 or x5 maximum). You have to be careful; futures require emotional control and risk management. Both markets are useful, but each has its moment. Knowing when to use which is key to growing as a trader.
