🇨🇳 CHINA HAS SURPASSED THE U.S. AS THE MOST COMMON TRADE PARTNER FOR COUNTRIES AROUND THE WORLD
🌍 In the year 2000, the U.S. was the main trade partner of over 80% of countries. By 2018, that number had fallen to just 30%. China is now the main trade partner of 128 out of 190 countries, especially dominating in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
📈 The numbers are compelling: China's total trade grew from $474 billion in 2000 to over $4 trillion. Meanwhile, the U.S. went from $2 trillion to similar levels, but losing relative influence. China is now the #1 partner of more than 120 countries.
The turning point was 2001, when China entered the WTO. Between 2005-2010, dozens of countries changed their trade loyalty, especially in Africa where China invested $128 billion just in 2019 in infrastructure. The Belt and Road Initiative cemented this domination.
2025 Data: Mexico, Canada, and China remain the top 3 trade partners of the U.S., representing over 40% of U.S. trade. But globally, China maintains its position as the world's trade hub, being the main partner of countries from Australia to Zimbabwe.
📊 While Trump threatens with 60% tariffs on China, the rest of the world deepens its trade ties with Beijing. The "decoupling" from China is a myth - it remains the global manufacturing engine and the most coveted market on the planet.
