I believe Trump’s tariffs are misguided and ultimately harmful to the economy. While they were intended to protect American industries, they often led to higher costs for consumers and businesses alike. Tariffs on imported goods resulted in price increases, supply chain disruptions, and retaliatory measures from other countries. Rather than strengthening the U.S. economy, they created uncertainty and strained international relationships. Many economists argue that such protectionist policies do more harm than good in a globalized market. Instead of fostering growth, these tariffs acted as a tax on American consumers and failed to deliver the long-term benefits that were promised.
