Musk and Trump have completely broken ties, establishing their own factions?
On July 5th, Musk officially announced the formation of the 'America Party,' directly challenging the two-party system in the United States.
The catalyst was the 'Great and Beautiful Act' signed by Trump, which removes electric vehicle subsidies and undermines the interests of new energy companies like Tesla. Musk fiercely criticized it as a 'mad and destructive' policy.
Musk had previously invested $290 million in Trump's 2024 campaign and served as the head of the 'Department of Government Efficiency,' but the two fell out completely due to policy differences.
On July 6th, Musk initiated a vote on the X platform, asking, 'Where and when should the first convention be held?' sparking speculation across the internet.
According to U.S. law, a new political party must hold a convention to elect interim officials and go through registration procedures in each state before participating in elections. There has been no official confirmation yet.
The New York Times revealed that Musk recently held secret meetings with his core team to discuss party-building strategies, possibly targeting key seats in the 2026 midterm elections.
