🇪🇺 ECB launches initiatives for DLT integration in financial systems
The Governing Council of the European Central Bank has approved the implementation of projects that will use distributed ledger technology (DLT) for settlements in the Eurozone.
The Pontes project aims to integrate DLT platforms with TARGET systems for the transfer of money and securities, with a pilot launch scheduled for the end of the third quarter of 2026.
Another project, Appia, will focus on global DLT solutions and the creation of an integrated European ecosystem in the long term.
