Lahore University of Management Sciences has disclosed its cryptocurrency portfolio in the audited financial statements for the year ending June 30, 2024. The total value of these digital assets stood at 463 million rupees.
The holdings were spread across multiple blockchain tokens. Stacks accounted for the largest share with over 395 million rupees. Bitcoin followed with around 43 million rupees, while Ethereum was valued near 22 million rupees. Solana rounded out the assets with nearly 2 million rupees.
These assets were recorded as intangible holdings with indefinite useful lives. The University reported that it did not identify any impairment losses during the annual review, relying on fair value estimates based on Coinbase Exchange market data.
Income earned from these cryptocurrency investments was directed to sponsored projects that support education and research. Part of the Stacks holdings generated returns in Bitcoin, adding to the diverse portfolio.
