$XRP There is a lot of confusion on the internet regarding the case #ريبل against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (#SEC ), with some publications claiming that the agency has already dropped its appeal against Ripple. However, the facts show otherwise.

To clarify: a ruling has already been issued, and Ripple has decided to drop its mutual appeal. As for the SEC's appeal, it has not been officially rejected yet. Mark Vagel, a former attorney at the agency, clarified that both parties still need to submit official papers to reject their appeals. While this seems inevitable, the agency is still going through its internal approval process.

And when one social media user asked if there was a chance for the SEC to vote on continuing its appeal, Vagel clarified that the agency had already agreed to reject the appeal as part of a prior settlement plan, although this plan was conditional on the court overturning an injunction, which did not happen. Now, there is no reason preventing the SEC from moving forward to drop the appeal permanently.

They have already voted to reject it (as part of a settlement conditioned on the district court overturning the injunction, which the court rejected). There is no reason preventing them from voting to reject it entirely at this stage, and they will do so.

Once the SEC completes its internal voting, both the SEC and Ripple (#Ripple ) will submit joint papers to officially end the appeals. At that point, the district court's ruling will come into full effect, and this long-standing legal chapter will finally be closed.

This clarification comes in the wake of the recent statement by Ripple's CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, who announced: "Ripple is abandoning our joint appeal, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is expected to drop its appeal, as I mentioned earlier. We are closing this chapter for good and focusing on what matters most - building the Internet of value."

And until the official papers are submitted, the appeal process remains technically open, although all indications point to its official end in the coming weeks.$XRP
