WalletConnect has never pursued popularity, but it is almost an unavoidable presence every time I use Web3.

I am more of a technical user, frequently switching chains, from Jupiter to Binance, from Ledger to Trust; every time I connect a wallet, the first one that pops up is WalletConnect. It has no flashy UI or spammy marketing; it is quietly doing the most important yet least discussed thing in Web3: building connections.

🔧 Technically, what I admire the most is its stability.

With multiple chains, numerous wallets, and a mix of interfaces, it was originally a frontend nightmare, but WalletConnect unified the interaction standards, making cross-chain interactions a 'foolproof connection'.

The connection logic is clean, the signature window loads quickly, and whether the RPC network is slow or the wallet plugin is acting up, it can almost always restore the connection—it's not a coincidence that many people use it; it's resilient enough.

🧱 Then there's WCT.

I staked some $WCT on staking.walletconnect.network. The whole process isn't complicated, but the significance behind it is substantial:

🔹 It's not just a voting token; it's the core fuel that truly empowers the connectors.

Supports network fee settlement (in the future).

Contribution nodes can earn rewards.

You can participate in governance, influencing connection rules and economic models.

The longer you stake, the higher the rewards, the more decentralized it becomes.

My first reaction after staking was: this isn't some 'popular new project'; it feels like a public infrastructure that has been maintained for many years is finally handing over control to the community.

📊 From the data, WalletConnect has supported over 700 wallets, connected to over 61,000 applications, with over 20 million monthly active connections, serving over 45 million users.

Many people have been toying around on-chain, switching wallets, and adjusting RPC over the years, perhaps they haven't realized they are using WalletConnect—yet, they truly are.

🔚 For me, the launch of WCT is not a new project going live, but rather the 'routing protocol' on the chain that I use every day becoming a network that can be co-owned.

If you truly care about decentralization and open networks, WalletConnect deserves your attention, even to stake.

🧠 Summarizing my evaluation of it in one sentence:

It's not the hottest, but it might be the one you rely on the most.
