On June 23, 2025, the Japanese investment company Metaplanet announced a new major purchase of bitcoins. As part of the deal, the firm acquired 1,111 $BTC at an average price of about $106,400 per unit. The total amount of investment exceeded $118 million.
With this purchase, Metaplanet's total cryptocurrency portfolio reached 11,111 $BTC , which is currently valued at over $1.12 billion.
