I'll be real with you when I was much a smaller acc I used to grind on X a lot and I keep using/hearing the word:

my network is my networth

my goal for those months was just slowly getting all the top influencers to follow me back lol

people like zeneca, threadguy, etc.

I consider it like a game, so everyone that 'followed me' as a achievement unlocked lol

but in the end (now) I realized it's not really worth it because them following you back won't really do anything

what you need to do here is to build genuine connections and actually connect with people on a deeper level.

our "network is indeed our networth" but ur follows isn't.

people won't help you or engage with you simply because they gave u a follow, they need to actually like you, know you, and wants to engage with you.

it has to be a proper equal exchange of value.

good content > get good engagement

you help me on smth big > I remember u and I'll help you back

few likes and tweets or comments won't do anything here

and for that, you need to have real genuine value.

the world is not fair, people don't just help people for no reasons.

once you grasp this, you grasp a big portion of life.
