The countdown for altcoins has begun.

Once the American stock market is fully tokenized, compliant stocks can circulate and be traded on the blockchain, those altcoins that rely on empty promises and storytelling will essentially have to exit the market.

COIN is working on this, turning on-chain securities into the mainstream. Many recently IPO'd stocks have a market value of only a few tens of millions or a couple of hundred million, which is not much different from small-cap coins for retail investors — but at least they are regulatory compliant and have real business.
