✅The U.S. Senate approved the stablecoin bill "Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins" (GENIUS). Bipartisan support passed with a result of 68 votes in favor and 30 against.
✅U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent supported the initiative
for voting in the House of Representatives.
The House Financial Services Committee has already advanced its own version of the bill — "Stablecoin Transparency and Accountability for a Better Ledger Economy" (STABLE), but it has not yet been brought to a general vote. Now the House faces a choice: to promote its own version or support the GENIUS Act.
Among Democratic senators, there are still concerns about insufficient consumer protections and the risk of corporate abuse.
