The US Federal Reserve will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, June 18, 2025, to make a decision among three possible options. One option is completely ruled out: raising interest rates, a decision that exacerbates inflation and increases prices.
There are two other options:
The first: maintaining the interest rate at the current level, which is the expected decision in order to continue reducing inflationary pressures.
The second: lowering the interest rate from the current level below 4.5%, which is not expected at this time due to the decrease in inflationary pressures, and this decision may be made later this month.
Jerome Powell, the man who does not succumb to Trump's political pressures, believes that the decision made by the US Federal Reserve must be in the interest of US monetary policy, not in the interest of those in power.
