#MetaplanetBTCPurchase Jeremy Allaire, founder and CEO of Circle – the company responsible for issuing USD Coin (USDC), does not mince words. On platform X, he stated that stablecoins are "the most useful form of money ever created." However, in his opinion, the industry has not yet launched the rocket.
A revolution is in the air. "The most useful form of money in history"
The entire discussion started from a post by Sam Broner from a16z Crypto. He wrote that stablecoins are better, "because they promote competition." A competition in which – as he put it – "everyone can program money." What follows from this? According to him: lower costs, greater accessibility, better services.
But not only speed and price matter here. Although those do make an impression ("<1 second, cost 1 cent"). Broner emphasizes that the biggest change will come from "permissionless programmability," meaning the ability to program money without the consent of any intermediaries. In other words: the freedom to code cash.
