Burning 410.75 trillion SHIB: An important step in the journey of reducing supply

Can a meme coin become the cornerstone of networks? Shiba Inu says yes

Shiba Inu

The Shiba Inu $SHIB meme coin continues to gain fame with its serious moves towards reducing the supply of its tokens, through ongoing burning mechanisms aimed at decreasing inflation and improving market value in the long term.

Over 410 trillion SHIB have been withdrawn from circulation

According to Shibburn, a site specialized in tracking burn operations within the Shiba Inu network, by mid-June 2025, 410,749,550,095,727 SHIB tokens have been permanently burned. This huge number represents more than 41% of the initial total supply of 1 quadrillion (10^15) tokens, making Shiba one of the active currencies in supply reduction strategies.

One of the most notable historical burns was carried out by Ethereum $ETH co-founder Vitalik Buterin, who donated and then burned nearly 410 trillion tokens from his stake in May 2021, which represents 90% of what he received from the Shiba Inu project.

Live statistics from the ecosystem

Total remaining supply: approximately 589.25 trillion tokens.

Number of tokens burned in the last 24 hours: 537,187,730 tokens, with a daily burn rate exceeding 3,000%.

Number of tokens burned during the week: 1,181,464,779 tokens, an increase of 887% from the previous week.

These figures indicate that burning operations are not a fleeting event, but a continuous policy adopted by the community and developers to create an inflationary effect.
