For six months, the #criptogranja of the Canadian firm Bitfarms in Santa Lucía de Villarrica generated extreme noise pollution, with fans operating day and night, preventing neighbors from sleeping and causing cases of stress, irritability, and mental health issues. Despite operating in a residential area with municipal permits, Bitfarms consumed electricity equivalent to the annual use of 47,500 households, without generating significant local benefits. After multiple complaints, the Prosecutor's Office charged a legal representative, and the justice system ordered the administrative process to be reopened. Although the noise has ceased, the psychological impact persists among the affected population.
