The U.S. Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged at 4.5%, in line with consensus estimates.
Earlier yesterday, Donald Trump criticized the Federal Reserve and its chairman Jerome Powell, stating:
⚫ The U.S. would pay significantly less for its national debt if the Federal Reserve cut rates.
⚫ It is unlikely that Powell will lower rates and "he is not doing a good job."
⚫ The Fed should cut rates by between 2% and 2.5%.
