United States.. The Court of Appeals Rules to Maintain the Tariffs Imposed by Trump

The American Federal Court of Appeals ruled last night, Tuesday, to maintain the tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump, while expediting the review of the appeals submitted regarding them.

The court's decision came in response to a request from the Trump administration, meaning that the tariffs enacted in early April will remain in effect during the months of June and July, at least, pending new deliberations scheduled for July 31.

The decision extends the validity of a previous ruling by the same court that suspended the enforcement of a ruling by a commercial court in New York, which had deemed that Trump exceeded his executive powers by imposing these tariffs without consulting Congress.

About 20 plaintiffs, including companies and American states, are challenging the legal basis upon which Trump relied to impose these taxes, asserting that this authority belongs to the legislative branch.
