U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he will send messages to major economies to outline planned trade tariffs in the coming weeks, ahead of the July 9 deadline for reaching trade agreements with his administration.

So far, the Trump administration has only signed a trade agreement with the United Kingdom and recently formed a trade framework with China.

Trump claimed on Wednesday that the trade agreement with China is "done," and that the United States has secured supplies of rare earth elements from the country. However, no further details about the agreement were provided.

A U.S. federal appeals court ruled on Tuesday evening to uphold the tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump, while speeding up the review of challenges filed against them.

About 20 plaintiffs, including companies and U.S. states, are contesting the legal basis on which Trump imposed these taxes, arguing that this authority belongs to the legislative branch.
