Musk expressed 'regret' statement after speaking with Trump, signs of easing relationship between the two

According to reports from The New York Times and Reuters on June 11, before Tesla CEO Elon Musk issued a statement expressing 'regret for getting involved in political disputes,' he proactively had a private conversation with former U.S. President Donald Trump late Monday night. Multiple sources indicated that this call paved the way for Musk's subsequent statement of regret posted on social media.

Previously, Musk had drawn attention for issuing a series of heated comments about Trump on social media, even sparking rumors of a rift between the two. However, after the call, Musk posted on platform X on Wednesday: 'I regret some of the comments I made last week regarding President Trump; I went too far.' Trump subsequently responded, saying 'very good,' expressing appreciation for the apology.

According to Axios, in addition to Trump, Musk also communicated with Trump's aide Susie Wiles and vice-presidential running mate J.D. Vance, indicating he may be actively repairing his relationship with senior Republicans.

It is widely believed that Musk's shift in stance involves not only personal feelings but may also be related to his business interests, particularly the close relationship between his companies and the U.S. government in terms of regulation and contracts.

This series of developments marks a sign of easing tensions between Musk and Trump, potentially leaving more room for future political and business interactions between the two.
