We have completely rebuilt OpenSea, and with OS2 officially ending beta testing, it’s time to take the next step.

On Monday, June 16, we will begin deprecating the old OpenSea (OS1) interface, marking a full transition for everyone to the brand new OpenSea experience.

What is disappearing

The new version of OpenSea includes or improves upon almost all the features of OS1, however, starting from June 16, the following OS1 features will be deprecated:

  • Deals: We will deprecate the Deals feature, which is a powerful tool but is currently used by very few users. While there are no plans to bring this feature into the new OpenSea yet, we plan to listen to feedback and may include it in future product roadmaps.

  • English Auctions: This auction type will be removed as it is rarely used, and we will focus on more popular types and forms of transactions.

  • Multi-currency listing/bidding: The new OpenSea currently supports listing and bidding with a single currency per collection, the multi-currency configuration support provided in OS1 will be deprecated.

  • Testnet: The new OpenSea currently does not support testnet activities. We will release updates if there are changes.

  • OS1 non-creator interface: All trading, collecting, and discovery will take place on our new platform. Your assets, orders, and data are available there - you don’t need to take any action.

  • Shopping cart: Although you can purchase multiple items at once in the new OpenSea, we have removed the shopping cart feature. In the future, we will continue to explore ways to make digital shopping more convenient and accessible.

We are making these changes to simplify the OpenSea experience, reduce fragmentation, and continue to build the best place for discovery, ownership, and on-chain trading.

What is left

Some legacy services, although not yet fully integrated into the new OpenSea, will not disappear:

  • OpenSea Creator Studio (studio.opensea.io) will remain available, existing features will not be affected, and it has been integrated into the new OpenSea ecosystem.

  • The OpenSea developer API has a separate migration timeline. Developers, we are ready for you - more updates are coming soon.

  • The OpenSea mobile app is being synchronized and a phased migration plan is underway.

Why this matters

The brand new OpenSea embodies all the experience we've accumulated over the past few years and our vision for the future of Web3. It is faster, more flexible, and fully functional, able to support NFTs, tokens, and on-chain activities across 19 public blockchains (and still growing).

By integrating into a single platform, we can iterate faster, deliver smarter, and provide the user experience you deserve with less overhead and greater momentum.

As always, thank you for being with us on this journey. If you have any questions or feedback, we are eager to listen. Feel free to join our newly launched Discord discussions or contact us through customer service.

Set sail! ⛵
