Chinese artist Huang Jiannan spent nearly a decade hiking across China in his early career, covering over 23,000 miles and drawing artistic inspiration from the world around him. Therefore, it is not surprising that in his NFT genesis series 'Orbit,' he leads art enthusiasts to the ends of the universe, creating perfect works.
Each rainbow-colored digital artwork tells the story of the chaos, beauty, and vastness of our solar system. Mr. Huang, known for his interstellar paintings, minted this collection in June 2024.
While this series is indeed inspired by his past physical works, each NFT has special utility that can ignite the interest of any web3 art enthusiast.

His NFT journey is another world he conquers with art.
Huang has repeatedly ranked among the top modern artists in China and globally. In 2023, the leading European and American art website ArtPrice ranked him 33rd among the 'Top 500 Contemporary Artists,' based on auction sales. Since 2015, Huang has consistently topped the Hurun Global Art List.
While his current works are explorations of the universe and new technologies as seen through Huang's eyes—colorful, boundless, and magnificent night skies—his earlier works focused on a narrower worldview, centered around the landscapes around him.
His early mentorship career prompted him to fuse two styles together, closely integrating modern world elements with traditional Chinese art. Huang's mastery in Western oil painting and traditional Chinese ink painting has been showcased in various exhibitions and recognized with multiple significant awards.
In 2012, Mr. Huang reflected on the development of his artistic style, stating: 'If an artist merely imitates the works of the masters, his work is merely repetition; the essence of art lies in originality and creativity, but this talent must be built on effort and perseverance.'
His genesis series revisits many of his acclaimed works.
Huang's 500 creative collectibles are masterfully crafted, with each 'Orbit' digital artwork being a replica of a physical art original. For example, 'Mining Pool' or 'Orbit #2 Abstract 48' was originally auctioned in 2020 for 22 million yuan (approximately over 3 million USD at the time of writing). Although it was initially sold as a physical artwork off-chain, its connection to the on-chain is undeniable.
In an article on X, Mr. Huang described the artwork Orbit as an interpretation of the blockchain mining pool scene, adding: 'This piece not only reflects the characteristics of the digital age but also symbolizes the infinite potential of blockchain technology.'
Throughout the series, Huang also showcases his understanding of quantum explosions in his paintings, where microscopic blue, red, and green molecules intertwine, revealing 'the brilliance and mystery of the universe' in works such as (Cosmic Pillar).
He plans to expand the membership of art collectors through the utility of NFTs.
In addition to metaphorically inviting art enthusiasts into his cosmic world, Huang also invites all NFT holders to join a members-only art collectors club, BW3. Although the platform has yet to disclose any public details, its X page has begun to post tweets welcoming members. Join the BW3 Art Collectors Club and connect with a vast network of art enthusiasts and collectors.
By owning Mr. Huang's NFTs, all holders will also retain the commercial rights of their NFTs. The BW3 X account encouraged holders to unleash their creativity in the world that Mr. Huang has passed down to them. This series continues the footsteps of other NFT series and artists, such as the PFP series NOUNS and artist XCOPY, who invite holders to embrace their creativity and exercise the commercial rights of the artwork.
