In 2008, amidst the financial crisis, a pseudonym emerged: Satoshi Nakamoto. He published a research paper titled "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System."

Satoshi solved the "double spending" problem without banks thanks to two amazing ideas:
Blockchain: A public ledger of transactions, impossible to forge.
Proof of Work: Computers solve complex puzzles to confirm transactions, ensuring security and preventing the printing of extra money.
Launch of Bitcoin: 2009!
In 2009, Satoshi launched the first block ("Genesis Block") and began "mining" Bitcoin. The first transaction was sending 10 Bitcoins to developer Hal Finney.
