#USChinaTradeTalks The statement from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs was made against the backdrop of June 7, when on the social media platform Truth Social, U.S. President Donald Trump also announced that a new round of trade negotiations between the U.S. and China would take place in London (United Kingdom), starting from June 9. Accordingly, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer will lead the U.S. delegation to London for this round of negotiations.
Therefore, this is the second round of negotiations between the two largest economies in the world, since Trump launched a trade war with China after returning to the White House in January 2025. Previously, the first round of negotiations between the two sides took place in May in Geneva (Switzerland).
