$BTC Metaplanet wants to own 100,000 BTC by the end of 2026
š° The Japanese public company Metaplanet has significantly increased its Bitcoin targets. Instead of the previous 21,000 BTC, it now aims to accumulate 100,000 BTC within the next 18 months.
š ±ļø Currently, Metaplanet has a balance of 8,888 BTC
š Purchase plan: another 91,112 BTC by the end of 2026
š Long-term goal ā to own 210,000 BTC by 2027 and join the '1% Club'
"The world is transitioning to a digital economy. We believe Bitcoin is the strategic asset of the future," said CEO Simon Gerovich.
šø To purchase coins, the company is expanding its stock issuance: it will add another 555 million securities to the already placed 210 million.
šŗ Metaplanet is referred to as the 'Japanese MicroStrategy' ā and it seems they really plan to play big.
