Yuga Labs sells Moonbirds IP to gaming startup Orange Cap Games

Yuga Labs, the company behind Bored Ape Yacht Club, has sold the intellectual property (IP) of Moonbirds, along with its Mythics and Oddities series, to Orange Cap Games, a venture-backed gaming startup focused on building NFT-integrated worlds.

While product plans are still under development, the team has confirmed that the Moonbirds avatar will appear in Yuga’s metaverse, Otherside.

Orange Cap also said that future Moonbirds-related items will be minted on ApeChain, an Ethereum layer-2 (L2) network tied to Yuga, which could indicate an ongoing role for the owl-themed characters in the ecosystem’s immersive environment.

Claynosaurz to be produced as a children's animated series in partnership with Mediawan

Mediawan Kids & Family, the youth division of European entertainment group Mediawan, is working with Claynosaurz to produce a 39-episode animated series based on the viral dinosaur brand created from a collection of 10,000 claymation NFTs.

Targeting children aged 6 to 12, the show will bring the Claynosaurz’ wacky VFX characters from short-form web3 content to mainstream audiences on YouTube and beyond.

Originally created by a team of renowned animators, Claynosaurz has grown its fan base through NFT collection and humorous videos, with over 450 million views across its various online channels.

This collaboration adds a new dimension to Claynosaurz’s on-chain origin story and can bring more credibility to the web3-born IP brand.

Phantom launches social feeds to track real-time activity

Phantom, a widely used Solana wallet, has launched a beta version of its social feed, bringing real-time on-chain activity into the wallet experience.

Similar to the Venmo feed, users can now follow wallets within the app, track popular coins, and react to transactions with emoji-style responses.

Kaito reveals the origins of “Yapybara” NFT

Kaito AI, a crypto-native search engine and research platform, has launched its Genesis NFT series called “Yapybara,” which consists of 1,500 avatar-style NFTs, including 21 one-of-a-kind artworks created by FroggyCyborg, the digital artist behind the design.

Disney+ partners with Dapper Labs to deliver NFTs to 150 million Disney+ users every month

Disney is partnering with blockchain gaming company Dapper Labs to launch Disney Pinnacle, a digital collectibles platform that will give out free NFT “pins” to Disney+ subscribers every month.

Based on Disney’s classic enamel pin, the digital version will be issued on the Flow blockchain and can be traded through Dapper’s wallet system.

While users will not need crypto knowledge to participate, they will still interact with the blockchain infrastructure through fiat currency purchases and wallet usage.

Off The Grid launches Red Ant Battle Pass ahead of Steam debut

Gunzilla Games has launched the Red Ant Battle Pass for Off The Grid, its blockchain battle royale game built on Avalanche.

The update introduces themed character and weapon skins, new in-game items (such as the mobility-enhancing Cyberlancer cyberlimb), and several performance and gameplay upgrades.

The game is currently in the preparation stages for its release on Steam later this month.

Operator unlocks choreography data for NFT holders

Operator, a Madrid-based duo working at the intersection of choreography and technology, will release the next phase of their blockchain-based dance project “Human Unreadable” later this month.

Holders of the original Ethereum NFT will be able to unlock a second soulbound token that will reveal the precise sequence of dance moves encoded in their work, and as described by artist Dejha Ti (who forms the Operator team with long-time collaborator Ania Catherine), these soulbound NFTs will be permanently bound to their original work and act as a digital choreographic score.

The duo began releasing Human Unreadable in 2023, and this update marks the next milestone in the long-term project, which was first minted on Art Blocks and will be performed live in late 2026 based on the first 100 NFT sequences.
