Although cryptocurrency ATMs are relatively new, they have started to appear everywhere, with hundreds of them in the New Orleans metropolitan area alone.
A woman named Louise, from Thibodaux, appeared in a recent social media post from the Lafourche Parish Mayor's Office, warning people about the latest scams sweeping Southeast Louisiana: deceiving victims and coaxing them into depositing their money into cryptocurrency ATMs. Louise says in the video: "He asked me to go to my savings account and told me that the FBI believed I should withdraw a large amount from it as well." "I realized then that something was not right here."
