Capital is neither good nor evil; it can create the greatest evil and also the greatest good.
Good and evil are determined by structure. What is structure? It is the productive forces and the relations of production.
Humanity has come from the slave society, through the feudal society and the authoritarian society, to today's relatively free society. This is not because capital has improved, but because the current productive forces demand the liberation and freedom of humanity.
Although I have always been concerned about robots taking away human jobs, this is just one possibility. From a human perspective, the winds often arise from the edges, and what changes the world pattern is not necessarily the center of the world. For example, Genghis Khan rose in the Mongolian Plateau, England emerged from a small island on the fringes of Europe, and earlier, the Qin Dynasty rose in the Guanzhong region on the edge of the Central Plains.
What does this indicate? It indicates that humanity needs diversity. Because it is often difficult to predict what will drive the next progress of humanity, and central empires often enter a steady state, because the structure has adapted through years of evolution, and a small change can affect the whole system, making it hard to correct.
This is why the United States is in its current state. Before Trump's administration, I had some expectations for reform from these two individuals, but now, it's a mess. Is there anyone stronger than Trump in terms of reformers in the U.S.? I think not. The fate of America is already determined; the countdown for the Roman Empire has begun.
China is also plagued with many issues, but the advantage of China is that its per capita level is still low, and compared to developed countries, there is still 3-5 times the space for development. During this period, any problems will be offset by development.
