The Port3 network is dedicated to building a robust data layer for Web3, providing support for users and projects by aggregating and standardizing on-chain and off-chain data.

From Bystander to Addict: My Story with Port3

Actually, at first, I knew nothing about Web3; terms like on-chain identity and social graphs sounded overwhelming. I happened to see someone bragging about their Rankit ranking while browsing Twitter, mentioning that tasks had rewards. At that time, I was just a bystander, thinking 'this looks lively', but the more I looked, the more curious I became.

The Beginning of Being 'Trapped' by Rankit

At first, I just casually clicked in to see and found this Rankit ranking system very interesting. It scores you based on your on-chain activities, social accounts, and various data, then provides a leaderboard. When I saw my score was shockingly low, my competitive spirit was immediately ignited... so I started researching how to improve my score.

I began to link my Twitter and wallet, slowly completing tasks, engaging in some project interactions, and so on. Seeing my score gradually rise each day and my ranking improve felt like leveling up in a game, strangely addictive. There was a time when I set an alarm to listen to project AMAs just to climb up the leaderboard (who could understand, I used to never watch these).

Can I really earn rewards by completing tasks?

Later, I found that the task system on Port3 is very attractive. Through some interactions, I can earn rewards, sometimes tokens, sometimes NFTs, and a few times whitelist spots for collaborative projects. To be honest, while the rewards aren't particularly generous, the feeling of 'having done something and being seen' is really satisfying, completely different from the previous way of just completing projects and leaving.

Once, my friend and I did a collaborative task for a Korean project, and we were both surprised to find ourselves in the top 100 of the leaderboard after completing it. The fun of sharing scores and competing with each other is very Web3 and quite childish.

The Korean community is doing very well on Port3.

Speaking of which, I must mention the recent surge of Port3 in the Korean community. I'm in a Telegram group for a Korean project and have clearly noticed more people discussing Port3 lately, and even some have created Korean tutorials. Sometimes, when I see how quickly they complete tasks, I feel a bit embarrassed (laughs).

Moreover, Port3 is very smart; the task page has a Korean version and frequently collaborates with Korean KOLs for activities, one wave after another. I feel that Port3 could become the 'key to unlocking Web3' in Korea.

Final Thoughts

Looking back, I transitioned from casually clicking on Rankit to someone who checks the leaderboard and grabs tasks every day, really 'falling into the pit' step by step. But this is a very positive pit, not just for rewards, but because you genuinely leave a mark through your actions and gain recognition.

If you're curious like me but haven't taken action yet, I suggest you check out Rankit now. Even if it's just to see your current on-chain score, who knows, you might end up like me, going from just watching to being addicted, and ultimately diving wholeheartedly into Web3.
