The Port3 network is committed to building a robust data layer for Web3, providing support for users and projects by aggregating and standardizing on-chain and off-chain data.
From Bystander to Addict: My Story with Port3
Actually, I knew nothing about Web3 at first; terms like on-chain identity and social graphs sounded overwhelming. I happened to see someone bragging about their Rankit ranking while browsing Twitter and mentioning that tasks had rewards. At that time, I was just a bystander, thinking 'this looks lively,' but the more I looked, the more curious I became.
The Beginning of Being 'Trapped' by Rankit
At first, I just clicked in casually to take a look and found this Rankit ranking system very interesting. It gives you a score based on your on-chain activities, social accounts, and various data, and then there are leaderboards. When I saw my score was surprisingly low, my competitive spirit was immediately sparked... So I started researching how to improve my score.
I started binding my Twitter and wallet, slowly doing tasks, completing some project interactions, etc. Seeing my score rise a little every day and my ranking improve felt like leveling up in a game, oddly addictive. There was a time when I set an alarm to listen to project AMAs just to climb the leaderboard (who can understand, I used to never watch these).
Can I really earn rewards by completing tasks?
Later, I discovered that Port3’s task system is very engaging. Through some interactions, I could earn rewards, sometimes tokens, sometimes NFTs, and a few times whitelist slots for collaborative projects. Honestly, although the rewards aren’t particularly rich, that feeling of 'doing something and being seen' is really satisfying, completely different from the previous way of just completing projects and leaving.
Once, my friend and I did a collaborative task for a Korean project, and we were both surprised to find ourselves in the top 100 of the leaderboard. The fun of sharing scores and competing with each other is very Web3 and quite childish.
The Korean community is doing very well on Port3.
Speaking of this, I must mention the recent surge of Port3 in the Korean community. I noticed more people discussing Port3 in a Telegram group of a Korean project, and some even created Korean tutorials. Sometimes, when I see how quickly they complete tasks, I feel a bit ashamed (laughs).
Moreover, Port3 is very smart; the task page has a Korean version and frequently collaborates with Korean KOLs for activities, one wave after another. I feel Port3 could become the 'key to unlocking Web3' in Korea.
Final thoughts
Looking back, I went from casually clicking on Rankit to checking the leaderboard and grabbing tasks every day, truly ‘falling into the pit’ step by step. But it’s a very positive pit, not just for earning rewards, but because you truly leave a mark through your actions and gain recognition.
If you’re curious like me but haven’t taken action yet, I suggest you take a look at Rankit now. Even if it’s just to see your current on-chain score, who knows, you might become addicted like I did, going from just a bystander to fully immersing yourself in Web3.
