Romania's postal service installs its first Bitcoin ATM

Poșta Română, Romania's national postal service, has installed its first Bitcoin ATM at an agency in the city of Tulcea, in partnership with the Bitcoin Romania exchange (BTR).

According to a statement from the postal service, the next locations to receive Bitcoin ATMs BTCR$ 567,246 will be Alexandria, Piatra Neamț, Botoșani, and Nădlac.

The ATMs are part of a broader effort to modernize the existing infrastructure with digital technology and expand the services offered in underserved areas of the country.

The presence of Bitcoin ATMs within national postal agencies reflects the growing acceptance of cryptocurrencies by legislators, governments, and public institutions, which are responding to the increasing demand for digital assets.
