Magic? Luck? Hacking? 🤯 None of that: just a lot of strategy (and a bit of cloud rental) 💡💻. A solo Bitcoin miner achieved the golden dream of any “hash hunter”: they took home 3.15 BTC + fees 💸 (about $330,000 😍) by successfully mining block 899,826… and that with the network difficulty at its highest point in history! 😨

📅 At 3:48 a.m. UTC on June 5, the feat was recorded on the blockchain 🧱 when the block was validated with 3,680 transactions, in a relatively uncongested environment (only 2 sat/vB average fee and $0.29 per transaction 💵).

But the most striking thing is how they did it: according to Con Kolivas (developer and admin of the Solo CK pool 🧑‍💻), the mysterious miner appeared with a hashrate of 259 PH/s 😵, much higher than what they normally had. This points to a temporary “hash boost,” probably rented from a cloud service ☁️⛏️. In short: they rented mining power just in time and made a big bet… and it paid off! 🎯🔥

🎢 How rare is this? Extremely. Since the difficulty reached 126.98T (according to Blockchain.com), the chances of a solo miner obtaining a block are very low 📉. But this year we have seen several similar cases that feed the narrative of the “lucky soloist”:

📌 March 10: another miner on solo.ckpool wins $263K 💎

📌 February 10: solitary victory of +$300K 🏆

📌 In total: more than 297 solo miners have already achieved glory 😮

What does this mean for the future of mining? 🧐

🔐 That even though the giants dominate, there is still space for resourceful rebels, strategy… and good timing!

💻 That renting hashrate could become a key tactic for independent block hunters.

📉 And with the difficulty increasing, these victories will become more and more epic and viral 🧨
