Scalability of Cardano: Hydra and Mithril – Speed for Mass Adoption! 🚀🌊
To achieve mass adoption, Cardano is actively working on scalability solutions that will allow it to handle enormous volumes of transactions. Two key projects in this direction are Hydra and Mithril.
Hydra: This is a Layer 2 solution that allows transactions to be processed off the main Cardano blockchain, significantly increasing throughput. Hydra can process up to 1000 transactions per second on each "Hydra Head," theoretically allowing for millions of TPS.
Mithril: This is a new protocol for efficient and secure verification of the blockchain. Mithril enables the rapid creation of cryptographically provable signatures that aggregate the state of the blockchain, making node synchronization faster and easier, which contributes to scalability.
Long-term vision: These solutions, combined with improvements to the main blockchain (Basho Era), will enable Cardano to support global applications and millions of users.
