just got off a scam call "from Coinbase". maybe w/ info from the Coinbase hack? who knows, but expect more of this. *reminder to everyone that these calls are always scams*

i usually just hang up, but this time i decided to try to save his soul...

"why are you scamming people?" i said right after his intro

usually scammers hang up, but this guy dropped pretenses and casually replied "because i'm good at it"

"do something else, it's evil to scam people!"

"do *what* else?" we went back and forth on this for a bit

i said two of the 10 Commandments are don't lie and don't steal

"the Jews don't have one of those" he said, no idea what this means, but thought i'd include it

he knew who i was, "you're brantly.eth" and started to read off assets held by my eth account from etherscan, as tho this was private info from Coinbase (it obviously isn't). i said "you don't even know how this works"

"yes i do, i'm good at scamming people" then said he knew my home address (but didn't say it), which i just ignored

kind went in circles for a bit more about how they shouldn't scam people

i was surprised at how long the guy stayed with me, but i needed to move on so finally i hung up

fwiw the call came from a Los Angeles number and the person was a man speaking with an American accent

stay safe out there!
