Bitcoin ($BTC ) Holders
Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin, is widely believed to be the largest individual holder of BTC, with an estimated 1.1 million coins. These holdings are thought to have been mined during the early stages of the Bitcoin network’s development. Despite possessing a substantial portion of the total Bitcoin supply, Nakamoto has remained inactive in terms of transactions, and does not operate as a conventional investor.
In addition to Nakamoto, several corporations have emerged as significant institutional holders of Bitcoin. Notably:
MicroStrategy has adopted Bitcoin as a core component of its treasury strategy, amassing one of the largest corporate BTC portfolios.
Tesla, led by Elon Musk, made headlines with its acquisition of Bitcoin, though it has since adjusted its holdings.
Binance, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, holds a considerable amount of BTC, both as part of its reserves and in custody for users.
Beyond institutions, various high-net-worth individuals and early adopters also hold substantial quantities of Bitcoin, contributing to the distribution of BTC across the ecosystem.
