Pretty sure REV is just another crypto rebrand for DCF
--
As I understand it, REV is just 'how much people paid to use the chain' Seems like a pretty solid measure for signal No metric has ever been the end-all, be-all -- REV included. But it's a dead-simple lens for understanding the value a chain brings to users.

DAVID WHY ARE YOU BRINGING JON CHARB ON THE PODCAST SO OFTEN ———————— I’ve gotten this take enough times, I figured I’d write a tweet First, @jon_charb is not the boogeyman you think he is. On Twitter, he’s blunt and direct, which might come off as harsh. I’m yet to see anything insincere. Many people in Ethereum disagree with his takes, but it would be foolish to think he’s therefore being dishonest. Second, I’ve selected all three members of our weekly roundtable, @0xBreadguy, @andy8052, and @jon_charb because every time I talk to each one, they teach me something. The roundtable is my selfish opportunity to learn a lot about a variety of perspectives across crypto - something that 2021-2023 era Bankless lacked in. Third, Jon represents the archetype of an investor who would totally buy ETH, if ETH deserved it. Despite what people want to think, I don’t believe Jon has any undue bias against Ethereum. He’s an investor with a coherent thought process, and I want to learn from Jon’s perspective about why he is not buying ETH, so I can better help Ethereum’s future so Jon is more likely to buy ETH tomorrow. If we keep listening to the same people, who already own ETH, we’re going to not hear the signals about why the next marginal buyers of ETH are not buying. —————————— There’s probably more reasons, but those are the big ones 1. Jon is a rational, honest actor. If you disagree, I ask that you also check your own bias 2. Jon has taught me a lot, and continues to do so. I am not alone here - much of the industry has been assisted by Jon’s research and analysis 3. Jon is the person that Ethereum should aspire towards converting. If we keep making boogeymen out of Ethereum’s potential TAM, Ethereum will take further steps down a path towards irrelevancy
