Ukraine-Russia Peace Talks Fail in Istanbul
Peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, held in Istanbul, ended without progress. Russia demanded Ukraine fully withdraw from four regions it claims—Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia. Ukraine rejected this, calling it unrealistic and unacceptable.
President Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine seeks an unconditional ceasefire but will not agree to give up its territory or abandon NATO goals.
Observers noted that Russia’s delegation lacked authority, and the absence of both leaders raised doubts about the talks' seriousness.
