#EricTrump son of U.S. President Donald #TRUMP , got attention at CoinDeskâs Consensus 2025 in Toronto by saying that Bitcoin is like digital gold and can hold its value over time.
Speaking to a packed crowd, Trump talked about how he got interested in crypto because of both what he saw happening in politics and things he went through in his own life.
âI really believe in digital gold, which is Bitcoin,â he said. While his background is in real estate, Trump admitted he only entered the crypto world when he saw how political attacks against his family mirrored those against the crypto community.
âWhen the same group started attacking my family and the crypto space, it brought us together,â he explained. That connection helped him see the value in digital assets.
Trump also highlighted how $BTC âs liquidity outshines real estate. âI sold a hotel two years ago, and it took me a year and a half. With Bitcoin, transactions are easy. You donât need to manage it constantly like real estate,â he said.
Eric Trump now serves as the chief strategy officer of *American Bitcoin*, a mining firm co-founded with Hut 8. The company plans to go public through a merger with Gryphon Digital Mining (GRYP).
Trump insisted the name was key. âIt had to have the word American, and it had to have the word Bitcoin in it,â he said.
With his growing involvement in the crypto space, Eric Trump is quickly becoming a strong voice for Bitcoin and its future as a digital store of value.
