This man, named Laszlo Hanyecz, sold 10,000 bitcoins for pizzas.
He posted on a forum: "I will pay 10,000 bitcoins for a pizza."
At the time, this amount was very low, about 25 dollars. Eventually, a forum user bit the hook and ordered a "Nice!" pizza from Papa John's, requesting it to be delivered to Laszlo in Florida.
Laszlo sent 10,000 bitcoins via his new command-line online wallet, and there you go, he got his lunch.
After a few years, the value of those 10,000 bitcoins rose to tens of millions of dollars. May 22nd of each year is celebrated as "Bitcoin Pizza Day," a bold tribute to the first real transaction in the digital world using cryptocurrency.
