The daughter of the CEO of a cryptocurrency exchange fights back against bold kidnappers in Paris
The daughter and son of Paymium's CEO, Pierre Noizat, were attacked in broad daylight, the latest incident in a growing trend of attacks targeting cryptocurrency entrepreneurs and their families.
A bold plot to kidnap the daughter and grandson of Pierre Noizat, co-founder and CEO of the French cryptocurrency exchange Paymium, was thwarted after the daughter and bystanders reportedly fought back against the kidnappers.
Three masked men attacked Noizat's daughter and a boyfriend on May 13 while she was walking with her son in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. The assailants attempted to force Noizat's daughter and her son into a waiting truck, French state media outlet France24 reported on May 13.
Police said the accompanying boyfriend was attacked when he tried to intervene, but Noizat's daughter fought back and attempted to wrest one of the assailants' guns during the struggle and threw it away.
Ultimately, passersby intervened, and the masked assailants fled in a nearby truck. All three victims were injured and taken to a local hospital.
Local newspaper Le Parisien reported that this failed daytime kidnapping is under investigation by the Robbery Suppression Brigade, a special police unit of the French Ministry of the Interior. #Paris
