#CryptoRoundTableRemarks

Goodbye to the Gensler era! 👋🏻

🤯 Is the SEC becoming pro-crypto? Yes, you read that right!

In an unexpected turn (and very welcome by the crypto community), the chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Paul Atkins, has just announced a radical change in the approach of the most feared regulator by degens. 😱👀

During a roundtable held on May 12, Atkins stated that the SEC will move away from the policy of "regulating by fine" and will usher in a new era of rational, clear, and pro-innovation regulation.

Among his most notable statements:

✨ "Blockchain can enable new types of market activities."

✨ "Policy formulation will no longer be the product of ad hoc enforcement."

✨ "We are going to create a clear framework for the issuance, custody, and trading of crypto assets."

Did someone say regulatory bull run?

This represents a total departure from Gary Gensler's style, whose legacy was criticized for its rigid and punitive approach (yes, like that time with Ripple... or with almost everyone). 🧊🔨

Now, with Atkins at the helm, the SEC plans to use its regulatory, interpretive, and exemption powers to establish clear and sensible rules, especially for tokens that could be considered securities.

🤔 Why does this matter?

Because clear regulation is the step that Wall Street and institutional whales have been waiting for to dive into the crypto world without fear of a surprise lawsuit. 🏦🐳✅

Moreover, Atkins' speech compared the tokenization of assets to the evolution of audio: from vinyl to streaming. Boom! This could be just as disruptive for the traditional financial system. 🎶➡️📲➡️💰

👉🏻 And it's not just theory:

➡️ BlackRock and Franklin Templeton already have tokenized bond funds.

➡️ Robinhood plans a blockchain for ➡️ Europeans to trade tokenized USA stocks.

➡️ There are over $22.6 billion in real assets tokenized already on-chain, and growing.

😁 Are we facing the "Spotify-ization" of the financial system?

Less friction, more liquidity, more inclusion... all thanks to the magic of blockchain. And now with the SEC paving the way!
