The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will host a roundtable focusing on digital currencies on May 12, and the guest list is impressive. Executives from major players in the traditional financial sector, including BlackRock, Fidelity, and Nasdaq, will meet in person at the SEC headquarters in Washington to have a unique discussion with blockchain innovators.

The topic to be discussed is asset tokenization. Or more specifically, how to integrate traditional finance architecture with blockchain flexibility. With expectations that digitized assets will exceed billions in the coming years, the stakes are high as well as the expectations.
