Announcement of banning Awami League will lead to withdrawal of ‘Shahbag Blockade’
Protesters have blocked the Shahbag intersection in the capital demanding the ban on the Awami League. As of 9 PM on Friday when this report was written, protesters were seen gathered in several groups at the Shahbag intersection. They say they will only leave the road once a notification is issued banning the Awami League.
On the ground, it can be seen that the protesters are divided into separate groups chanting slogans while blocking the Shahbag intersection. The main theme of all their slogans is to ban the politics of the Awami League.
Leaders and activists of the National Citizen Party (NCP) are chanting slogans while occupying the area under the advertisement board in the Shahbag area.
