"I have decided to give my money back to society much faster than I originally planned. Over the next 20 years, I will donate nearly all of my fortune through the Gates Foundation to save and improve the lives of people around the world. And on December 31, 2045, the foundation will close its doors forever. <…>
In the very first charter of the foundation, a clause was included: the organization will cease to exist a few decades after our [with my wife] death. A few years ago, I began to rethink this approach. <…>
The exact amount will depend on the markets and inflation, but I expect the foundation to spend over $200 billion by 2045".
69-year-old Bill Gates is one of the richest people in the world. His net worth is currently estimated at $108 billion.
