Can this be considered good news for Ethereum?

Linea announced that starting from May 8th, it will optimize the bridging experience. Users can transfer assets from the Ethereum mainnet (L1) to Linea (L2) through its native tools without incurring L2 network gas fees, provided the following conditions are met:

1. The gas consumption for a single transaction must be less than 250,000 units (applicable to standard transfer scenarios);

2. USDC bridged through Circle's CCTP will not enjoy this benefit;

3. Users still need to bear the base gas fees of the Ethereum mainnet (L1).

Linea reduces the cross-chain costs for users, with L2 side gas fees subsidized by the project (conditional), but L1 fees and specific bridging methods (such as USDC's CCTP) are still the user's responsibility.$ETH #Linea
