#USHouseMarketStructureDraft

On May 5, 2025, Republican leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives introduced a draft legislation to regulate cryptocurrencies as digital commodities. This bill seeks to clarify which digital assets are considered securities and which are not, establishing a regulatory framework for their issuance and trading without classifying them as securities under the Securities Act of 1933. However, assets that operate as swaps, futures, or derivatives would still be subject to existing regulations. Additionally, a process is proposed to determine the legal status of blockchain networks launched before the enactment of the law. This proposal is currently under significant debate and review.
