In April, Solana network validators implemented an emergency update to address a serious security vulnerability that could have allowed attackers to issue and steal tokens.

However, the swift countermeasures taken by participants in the Solana network raised concerns about the level of centralization of the network. According to the Solana Foundation report on May 2, validators coordinated the implementation of a set of two fixes.

Users were likely outraged by the lack of transparency in this process, as the patch was executed on April 17. Some perceived such actions as collusion.

Grant Hammer, the founder of the Etherealize marketing institute, which is part of the Ethereum ecosystem, criticized the move, emphasizing that such development could be executed for less noble purposes.
