The recent market is a bit like a popular barbecue stall in a night market — lamb skewers (Bitcoin) are grilling with sparks flying, and diners are gathered around the grill, while chicken wings and grilled leeks (various altcoins) can only be left to cool for now, occasionally making a sizzling sound that draws a few curious glances. Currently, the market share of BTC has risen to around 64%, reaching a four-year high, with all the money pouring into this skewer, making the scene quite conservative.

But seasoned diners know: no matter how fragrant the lamb skewers are, you can’t just nibble on this flavor all night. Historically, whenever the dominance of Bitcoin approaches around 65%, people will start to change their taste once their stomachs are full — this was the pattern in the spring of 2021: Bitcoin surged for a while, followed by Dogecoin and Ethereum cooking in the kitchen, multiplying several times.

So the current script is likely still the old trope:

Bitcoin leads the market upward, and once the heat dissipates, funds will go to altcoins for fun.

Not all dishes in the altcoin section are tasty. Don’t mistake “air coins” for filet mignon.

What’s truly worth laying low for are those themes that have been frequently mentioned recently — AI, ZK, RWA — which ignite quickly, have plenty of grease, and can flare up with a gust of wind.

If you also want to have a taste:

Don’t rush to throw a whole plate of meat into the grill. Bitcoin is already on the edge of charcoal fire, and high temperatures are not suitable for a frantic chase.

Leave some base assets to “order a portion and taste a piece” in the altcoin zone, don’t just aim for cheap and take the whole pot.

Remember to set stop-loss and take-profit: no matter how lively the night market is, if the boss burns the barbecue, it still has to be thrown away — and so does your principal.

The quieter the market, the more it resembles the stuffy smell when the barbecue stall just ignites: the smoke is pungent, but the aroma has already started to waft out. When the moment comes that Bitcoin’s heat diminishes, and the grease in the altcoins explodes, a long line should form in front of the stall. Make sure to secure a little stool first, don’t rush to empty your wallet, and don’t wait until the smoke has cleared to ask, “Is there any left?”
